Iran’s spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei blames the US and Israel for what happened in Syria

TEHRAN (QJ) – In his first speech since the fall of Bashar al-Assad, Iran’s spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claimed that Tehran possesses “evidence” that “what happened in Syria resulted from a joint plan by the United States and the Zionist regime.”

“Yes, a neighboring state to Syria played and is playing a clear role in this matter. We see this,” he told an assembly in Tehran, referring to Turkey.

However, Khamenei reiterated that the “main plotters” are the United States and Israel.

Khamenei stated that the “axis of resistance” that Iran supports will gain resilience and strength in the face of increased pressure.

“I tell you, with the help of God, the expansion of resistance will cover the entire region more than ever,” the supreme leader said, as many in the audience also chanted “death to America” and “death to Israel.”

Khamenei said “ignorant” analysts who are unaware of the true meaning of the axis of resistance believe that if the axis weakens, “Islamic Iran” will also weaken.

“I tell you, with God’s help, a powerful Iran is a strong one and will become even stronger.”
