Iran denies Un Rep meeting with Elon Musk

Tehran November 16, 2024(QJ)-Iran’s state media reported on Saturday that Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied a meeting between Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations and Elon Musk, the world’s richest person and close friend of the elected US President Donald Trump.

The New York Times reported that the meeting took place earlier this week, citing two Iranian officials.

However, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baghaei, “explicitly denied” that any meeting took place and was “astonished” by the US media’s report, said IRNA, which is government-run.

The Times, a US newspaper, reported that a meeting between Musk and Iran’s envoy, Amir Saeid Iravani, took place on Monday at a secret location in New York and lasted over an hour, citing Iranian officials who described the discussion as focused on de-escalating tensions between the two countries.
