Incumbent Djibouti president announces his candidature

Djibouti– President Ismail Omar Guelle of Djibouti has announced his candidature for the position in the coming elections.

In a  video, the president said his decision was informed by a demand from a large section of Djiboutian citizens who called don him to seek re-election. “I believe I have led the country to development strides. However, I would like to continue with my development agenda” he said.

The country’s presidential elections are set for April 2016.
