Harris and Trump pledged to end the conflict in the Middle East

Michigan November 05, 2024(QJ)-In the closing days of the U.S. presidential election, Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate, has pledged to end the conflict in Gaza.

Speaking in Michigan, a state with a significant Arab and Muslim population, Harris addressed voters angered by the ongoing violence, which has resulted in the deaths of over 43,000 Palestinians and the displacement of nearly 2.3 million Gaza residents.

While she did not detail her plan to end the conflict, her campaign supported the strong U.S. military support for Israel.

The Israeli conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon have been contentious in the election, with many voters criticizing the U.S.’s support for Israel amid increasing casualties and destruction.

Michigan’s 15 Electoral College votes and its active Arab and Muslim communities are crucial for Harris. Trump also visited Dearborn, Michigan, promising to end the Middle East conflict without specifying how.

Over 78 million Americans had already voted early, with more Democrats than Republicans casting early ballots.
