Hargeisa Mayor: Up to His Task

By: Aden Deeq

Hargeysa Mayor Abdirahman Mahmoud Aidid “Soltelco” who’s is known to be a humble quiet person by not so often been on the front pages of local news pappers and televisions as the Ministers, General directors and other institutional bodies who are well known to be always on screens and newspapers wanting to earn the public respect and honoured by all it is citizens by always acting active is what differentiates Hargeisa Mayor from all. Since he has been appointed to his post after the sudden death of Honourable Eng. Yussuf Warsame Said, Mayor Abdirahman Mahammoud Aidid has proven that the new elected council mostly been composed of youth have been to their task till now through their work which is tangible, and visibly done with vision reflecting their dedications by putting it to work.

What is the structure of our council and the mayor role?

There are two types of structures; 1: A common power structure is the council-weak mayor.

2: The other structure is the council-strong mayor, in which the mayor has significantly more authority.

Our structure is number two the council strong mayor having significantly more authority and power. Hargeisa Mayor Abdirahman Mahmoud Aidid has shown no signs of being to tough or thirst for power because his nature hasn’t change a bit his behaviour remained the same which is far from being a common thing in Hargeisa were we are used to the behavioural change of any new person appointed in an office of a higher level which totally changes us taking an air of grandeur seen in some ancient monarchies. The good good work of Hargeisa mayor is truly remarkable taking every step at a time following a simple cadence, the cadence of making a change, the cadence of putting all actions in place, the cadence of fulfilment, the cadence of what the people were really expecting.

I believe as a writer that every good work has to be encouraged not in the manners of today’s present times were people yearn to be praised, invited, mentioned at every events, no! It has to be different because the difference that Abdirahman Mahmoud Aidid has shown is a path of excellence deserve to be applauded and an example for us all.
