Galmudug wins the Inter-Regional Champions

Muqdishu January 29, 2024 (QJ)  -The Galmudug regional football team secured victory in the interregional tournament against Hirshabelle, defeating them 4-1 in the final match held at Muqdisho Stadium.

The closely contested match ended 0-0 after 90 minutes, leading to a penalty shootout where Galmudug defeated Hirshabelle with a score of 4-1.

This victory marks a significant achievement for Galmudug, as it is their first win in the interregional tournament.

The Somali government has taken measures to enhance security in the capital, particularly around the stadium and public areas, deploying additional forces and tightening security measures in response to potential tensions between the supporters of the competing teams.
