The chairman of House of Elder (Senate) Hon. Suleiman Mohammud Adan (Suleiman Gal) has called on members of the senate to participate in the ongoing exercise of voters registration, access the famine and check on the lives of ordinary civilians and report back their finding to   the house after the month recess is over.

Speaking on the House of the Elders floor Hon. Suleiman told the representatives that their normal two month leave was to start. He told the senator that he will make changes on the house special committees during the recess. “It’s a fortunate coincidence that the senate leave and the voters registration coincide so I would like you to go out there and participate in the exercise. Every member should take part in the registration wherever they are shouls it be region, or district. You represent people so you should go back to your constituents to see how they are fairing.”

The Guurti boss went on to say that the country is experiencing a severe drought so the legislators ought to go and see the situation on the ground and report their finding to the house so that the government could find way to help the afflicted people.
