Emergency Landing: Somali plane lands in Mogadishu with hole in its side
The hole in the airplane’s side appeared just after takeoff from Mogadishu at 10,000ft (3,048m), a co-worker of one of the passengers told the sources.
It’s not clear what caused the damage.
The Daallo Airlines flight was taking about 60 people on board, a police officer in the scene told the Bloomberg news agency.
Some reports say a fire broke out just after takeoff.
Darren Howe, who’d a co-worker on the airplane, shot a picture of the aircraft that was damaged after it had landed.
“It wasn’t an explosion however a fuselage failure at 10,000ft,” he told.
