The chairman of Kulmiye as well as Kulmiye presidential candidate Mr Muse Bihi Abdi was among the guest of honor at a graduation ceremony held for hundreds of students, the fourth batch to graduate from various faculties of Golis University which was held in Maansoor hotel, Berbera.
Other high dignitaries including the Minister of Education Hon Abdillahi Ibrahim Habbane, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Dr Saad Ali Shire, deputy health minister, MPs and other officials attended.
Speaking during the Graduation Ceremony, the chairman of Kulmiye as well as the presidential candidate Mr Musa Bihi Abdi lauded the graduating students for the hard work, diligence, strive and commitment they showed during the many years they were studying. The chairman reminded the students that they are expected to become the leaders of their communities for public services and to become fully competitive. “Today you have graduated from three various faculties – the most indispensable faculty you have learned is the medicine. Dear brothers and sisters as Somalilanders, today, we are in dire need to get healthy people – our community requires to maintain proper health. I rejoiced when I saw ladies graduating from the Medicine Faculty – women are more appropriate than men in such faculties. I spur all of you to work for the nation,” said Muse Bihi Abdi, Kulmiye’s chairman and presidential candidate as well.
Similarly, the chairman of Kulmiye as well as the Presidential candidate Mr Musa Bihi urged the students graduating from commerce and economic departments to work for their nation. “Today you have learned economics and commerce – a country of which 60% is youth with unemployment is waiting for you. For the last 20 years the economy of Somaliland is growing but yet we cannot afford to employ everyone, so as you are the scholars of the country, you should present practical analysis and data to the government. You, as educators, should demonstrate critical researches, with more accurate data, that shows the main road to tackling prolonged droughts that has stricken and has battered to our nation as a whole.”
Mr Musa Bihi Abdi, Kulmiye’s flag bearer, disagreed the idea of saying Berbera need to urbanize and to do so, people should settle there. He pointed out that Berbera has the most extravagant resources in the region with the most civilized people residing there. Speaking about this, Mr Musa said, “Berbera has the most extravagant natural resources – sea, mountains with minerals, the longest rail way in Africa, livestock. In addition, Berbera is the home of the most civilized people in Somaliland. So I would like to say that people from all over the world should to move to Berbera to reside and live here.”
And lastly, the chairman urged residents of Berbera city to welcome the guest. The chairman stated this will enhance and will staggeringly increase the number of people visiting the port city of Berbera.
