President Silanyo Receives Soccer and Basketball Champions

Hargeisa, Jun 22, 2013 (SDN) – Somaliland president Ahmed Mohamed Silanyo on Saturday met with members of the two teams that won the soccer and basketball competitions of Somaliland’s regional sports tournament which has been concluded yesterday in Hargeisa stadium.

While receiving the two team’s players and staff, President Silanyo commended the result they achieved in the regional sports tournament, in which Marodijeh region football squad won this year’s football cup and Gabiley region basketball squad won the basketball cup for the first time.

At the meeting, also attended by a number of cabinet ministers, chairman of ruling Kulmiye party, parliamentarians and other guests, the players of both regions vowed more hard work to better their performance and strengthen the two team’s chances of winning the next year regional sports tournament.
