bomb blast targets Somali Constitution meeting in Mogadishu

Mogadishu(SDN)-A massive bomb blast rocked Mogadisho’s Police Academy where Somali delegates where debating a new Constitution.

The blast destroyed an army check point just out side of the Academy where security forces set up a perimeter.

It is not clear yet how many casualties and whether this blast would have an effect in the meetings.

Al Shabaab recently issued a decree condemning the proceedings(the constitutional debate) calling it anti Islamic act.

Somali transitional government assured the delegates and the public that the meetings would be secure and as of yet did not release any information regarding this latest attack.

Somalia did have a fully functioning government since the fall of the central government in 1991.
