Somaliland’s Fisheries Minister Welcomes Chinese Investors

Hargeisa (SDN)- A delegation of businesses leaders from China arrived at the coastal city of Berbera in the Somaliland region of Saahil.

Nine members of the delegation from China were welcomed at the airport by the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Minister of Somaliland Mr. Abdullahi Jama’a Usmaan (Geeljire) and the Governor of Saahil region Mr. Mahamuud Ali Saleeban (Ramaax).

The Fisheries Minister travelled with the group to the nation’s capital in Hargeisa. The delegation is in town to discuss investment opportunities in Somaliland’s Fisheries industry. “Members of this delegation that has come to Somaliland are representatives of Fishery companies in China, where I had the opportunity to meet with them in January; during that visit I invited them to Somaliland. They will work with us on Fishery development and investment in our economy” said Mr. Saleebaan.

When the delegation arrived they toured several sites in Berbera including the port and the public Fishery of Berbera.
