HH Shaikh Nasser reiterates Bahrain’s support to the brotherly Somali people

Manama: March 12 – (BNA) The Royal Charity Organization’s Board of Trustees President His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support to the brotherly people of the Republic of Somalia in compliance with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Monarch of the Kingdom of Bahrain who is the Honorary President of the Royal Charity Organization regarding the provision of humanitarian aid and contribution into developmental projects which help build Somali citizens, and to consolidate fraternal amicable relations between both brotherly peoples, reconfirming the support of HM the King to RCO’s work in supporting the brotherly Somali people which reflects fraternal relations between both brotherly countries and peoples.
These remarks were made as His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa received the Somali Minister of Health Dr. Abdulaziz Shaikh Yusuf and his accompanying delegation currently visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain in the presence of Minister of Health Sadig bin Abdulkarim Al-Shehabi, RCO’s secretary-general Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayyed, Foreign Ministry undersecretary Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, RCO’s assistant secretary-general Yusuf Abdullah Al-Yagoub and RCO’s director of planning and projects Ebrahim Al-Dossary.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa reiterated constant support from the Kingdom of Bahrain’s wise leadership, government and people to alleviate the suffering of Somali brethren and to provide development assistance in order restore water and to contribute to the welfare of all classes of the brotherly Somali people.

On the other hand, the Somali Minister of Health Dr. Abdulaziz Shaikh Yusuf expressed his utmost gratitude and appreciation for the initiatives of His Majesty the King in providing relief aid to flood victims in the Republic of Somalia and praised the efforts of the Royal Charity Organization led by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in alleviating their suffering. The Somali Minister revealed that the Kingdom of Bahrain was the first country who has taken the initiative of implementing development projects in the Republic of Somalia, citing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Hospital as the first developmental project in Somalia in the last twenty years which reflects the professionalism and good organization in RCO’s charity work led by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and praised the Kigndom of Bahrain’s reforms and accomplishments in all spheres and the democratic process under the prosperous reign of His Majesty the King, supplicating to Allah to preserve the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people under the wise leadership of His Majesty.

By the end of the meeting, commemorative gifts for this occasion were exchanged.

It is worth mentioning that the Royal Charity Organization has been keen on implementing a number of development projects in Somalia, for instance, the signing of an agreement for the construction of the Bahrain Teachers’ Training Institute in Somalia, the funding of 1000 cataract surgical operations for Somali patients in collaboration with the Bahrain Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery Center, laying down the foundation stone for the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Hospital in Mogadishu, the digging of 10 wells all over the drought-ravaged Somali regions, in addition to more than 220 tons of emergency of nutrition and medical aid shipments.
