Lebanese PM Condemns Israeli Airstrike

Beirut September 07, 2024(QJ) -Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has strongly condemned Israel’s deadly attack on medical workers, stating, “This new aggression against Lebanon is a blatant violation of international laws and human values.”

The Amal Movement, an ally of Hezbollah, confirmed that two of its members were among those killed. They said they were killed “while carrying out their humanitarian and national duty defending Lebanon and the south.”

A statement from Lebanese Health Minister Firass Abiad indicated that “due to [Israeli] aggression,” 27 emergency personnel and medical workers have been killed and 94 others injured since October.

Two hospitals and 21 health centers have been “targeted,” while 32 fire or ambulance vehicles have been “put out of service or partially damaged.” The minister urged an end to the “repeated and deliberate targeting of health workers and civilians.”
