Hezbollah’s involvement in the Israel-Hamas conflict has been “an act of support”

Beirut July 02, 2024(QJ)  -The deputy leader of Hezbollah in Lebanon has stated that the only certain path to a ceasefire along the Lebanon-Israel border is a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza.

“If there is a ceasefire in Gaza, we will stop without any hesitations,” Hezbollah Deputy Leader Sheikh Naim Kassem said in an interview with the Associated Press at the group’s political office in southern Beirut.

Hezbollah’s involvement in the Israel-Hamas conflict has been “an act of support” for its ally, Hamas, Kassem noted. “If the fighting stops, our military support will cease.”

However, he added that if Israel reduces its military operations without a formal ceasefire agreement and a complete withdrawal from Gaza, the impact on the border conflict between Lebanon and Israel remains uncertain.
