Turkey refuses to refuel Israeli Airline

Antalya June 30, 2024(QJ)-Israel’s national airline, El Al, reported that its flight from Warsaw to Tel Aviv was not allowed to refuel at Antalya Airport in Turkey after an emergency landing. The airport staff refused to refuel the LY5102 flight before it departed for Israel, as stated by El Al.

Following the incident, the plane took off for Rhodes in Greece to refuel before heading to Israel.

Turkish diplomatic sources confirmed that the plane made an emergency landing for emergency reasons. They stated that fuel would have been provided for humanitarian reasons, but the captain left before the appropriate procedures were completed.

The conflict in Gaza has severely strained relations between Turkey and Israel, with all direct flights between the two countries halted since October 7.
