Numer of deaths at Hajj exceeda 1, 000

Mecca April 21, 2024(QJ)-The number of people who have died during this year’s Hajj has exceeded 1,000, according to the AFP news agency on Thursday, with many of them being unregistered pilgrims.

Among the newly reported deaths are 658 individuals from Egypt, as reported by an Arab diplomat, who stated that out of the 658 Egyptians who died, 630 were unregistered pilgrims.

The overall death toll from this year’s Hajj includes individuals from 10 different countries.

The Somali government has confirmed that six Somali pilgrims were among those who died during this year’s Hajj.

Official statements or diplomats from the respective countries have been providing updates on their citizens.

The Hajj pilgrimage has once again coincided with a period of intense heat in Saudi Arabia.

The National Meteorological Center has announced that temperatures will reach 51.8 degrees Celsius around the Grand Mosque in Mecca this weekend.
