Al Shabab attacks residents in North Eastern Kenya

Lamu November 27, 2023 (QJ) –  -Members of Al-Shabaab are reported to have carried out attacks causing casualties and property destruction in the North Eastern region of Kenya. Kenyan media reported that Al-Shabaab militants targeted areas such as Marafa and Poromoko near the town of Lamu. The attacks resulted in the death of at least one civilian and destroyed more than 10 houses.

Kenyan police forces, including specialized units, responded to the attacks with intensive operations. However, the reports indicate that the security forces have not yet managed to apprehend the perpetrators of the attacks.

The recent Al-Shabaab attack in the North Eastern region of Kenya comes at a time when Al-Shabaab attacks have decreased in recent weeks, with Kenyan security forces engaging in various counter-terrorism operations during this period.
