The latest from Gaza after a month long shelling

Gaza November 07, 2023 (QJ)-Today marks one month since Hamas launched an attack on Israel on October 7th of this year, killing 1400 people and taking about 200 hostages. Israeli forces have been conducting airstrikes since and have launched ground assaults killing more than 10 thousand people mostly women and children.

The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has described the situation in Gaza as a “graveyard for children,” while Israel continues their operations in Gaza. He also emphasized that Gaza remains a place of “collective punishment.”

Earlier, the French ambassador to the United Nations called for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. Ambassador Nicolas De Riviere stated that this could pave the way for a lasting truce. However, French allies, including the United States and the UK, have argued that a ceasefire would only benefit Hamas.
