Death toll in Gaza strikes reach over 10 thousand

Washington November 06, 2023 (QJ) -Israel has requested the United States to provide 24,000 riffles, according to the New York Times.

This request has raised concerns within the U.S. Congress and the State Department, as they believe that Israel may distribute these weapons to Jewish civilians in the West Bank.

On the other hand, the United Nations Security Council is holding a closed-door meeting today on the worsening situation in Gaza. The meeting was requested by the United Arab Emirates and China, as reported on the website of the Security Council, and a resolution calling for a ceasefire by Russia and other countries has already failed.

Health officials in Palestine have reported that over 10,000 people, including many civilians, have been killed in the recent escalation in the Gaza Strip, with more women and children among those injured or killed in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Additionally, Pope Francis has also issued a strong call for an end to the violence in Gaza, urging the international community to intervene and provide aid to the injured and affected population.
