UN Condemns hospital bombings in Gaza
Gaza November 04, 2023 (QJ) – Israeli warplanes yesterday struck two hospitals and a school in Gaza where wounded patients and displaced civilians had sought refuge. Israel targeted the Al Shifa Hospital and the Indonesian Hospital, along with Al Quds Hospital, causing at least 15 deaths and injuring 60 people.
The wounded were being transported to Egypt at the time of the bombing. Additionally, a United Nations-run school was hit, resulting in the death of at least 20 people.
The bombings occurred shortly after U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the United States would be contributing aid to Gaza. Blinken, who met with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in Tel Aviv, emphasized Israel’s responsibility to ensure the safety and provide the necessary assistance to the people of Gaza.
The international community, including the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, has strongly condemned the recent attacks on medical facilities and expressed concern about the ongoing violence.
Nevertheless, the attacks on Gaza’s hospitals persist, with the Al Nasar Children’s Hospital and Jabaliya Hospital being targeted on Saturday morning.
