Puntland’s Federalisation Committee meets with Deni

Garoowe January 21, 2023 (QJ) – The President of Puntland, Said Abdullahi Deni, held the first official meeting with Puntland’s Negotiations Committee on the Federalization of the country, appointed by the President on January 14, 2023.

According to a statement from the Puntland Presidency, President Deni briefed the committee on the current state of Somalia’s political development and shared key issues that are currently being discussed.

The statement also indicated that the President discussed past and recent conferences that Puntland had participated in and shared information with the committee on the key issues that are currently at hand.

The committee, which includes former Puntland officials, was wished success by President Deni in fulfilling the responsibility assigned to them.

Puntland has recently accused Somalia’s federal government of destroying the country’s federalization process and vowed to act independently.
