Court in Hargeisa sentences Pakistani national to 1 year jail term for spreading Shiite doctorine in Somaliland

HARGEISA— Marodi Jeh provincial court on Tuesday has passed verdict against Pakistani businessman of breaking immigration laws and spreading Shiite doctrine in Somaliland in a bid to create religion divide among Sunni predominant community.

Mr. Mohamed Reza Hussein, 63 years old Pakistani national has been sentenced to 1 year jail sentence, harsh fine and faces deportations.

Marodi Jeh regional court magistrate Mr. Abdirisak Beergel has presided the court’s hearing today.

The associate of the Pakistani businessman received a fine of 3, 000, 000 SL Shillings and will be deported from Somaliland within a matter of 2 months.
