Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister calls for resumption of stalled talks

112-300x297GENEVA—– Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mohamed Omar Arte who is in Switzerland has once again called for the resumption of long-stalled talks between Somalia and Somaliland.

Mr. Mohamed has highlighted the importance of making political compromise and further called on those who are wrong should be corrected.

Somalia’s DP has stated that if the negotiations do not resume then the situation will remain the same.

He said the best way forward is for the resumption of the talks between Somalia/Somaliland.

The talks between Somalia/Somaliland stopped after Somalia included the committee individuals that hailed from Somaliland.

Most Somaliland citizens expressed their pessimism that talks will not produce tangible progress since Somaliland is determined to secede from Somalia.

Mr. Mohamed Omar Arte hails from Somaliland and is the son of former foreign minister of Somalia, Omar Arte during the military era.
