Fozia and Mohamed Omar begins Anti-Somaliland campiagns in Somalia

Mogadishu – Two politicians who hail from Somaliland has launched anti Somaliland conference in Mogadishu which kicked off today.

Former Somalia foreign affairs minister, Ms. Fozia Haji Adam and the current Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Mohamed Omar Arte have organized a meeting in which they have said that the attendees represent communities in Somaliland.

The conference is part of Regional consultations to discuss the 2016 electoral process in Somalia.

It is aimed at discussing the best possible way for Somalia to move from tribal based elections into real democracy in 2016.

The forum also saw the attendance of members of Somali lawmakers and ministers who hail from northern regions in Somalia.

The outcome of consultative process will be presented to the National consultation form before the end of 2015.

Somaliland announced its secession from Somalia in 1991 and is preparing to hold its third presidential elections in 2017.
