Somalia: New Indian ambassador presents credentials to president

MOGADISHU—-HE. Ms Suchitra Durai, the new ambassador of India to Somalia, presented his credentials to President Hasan Sheikh Mohamud today.

Somali president has made sure to the new Indian ambassador that the Somali gov’t will provide close working cooperation in her responsibility to discharge her national duty.

The President has thanked the ambassador for her country’s commitment to consolidate to ties with Somalia.

Hasan, president of Somalia has welcomed a message addressed to Somalia president and from Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi who stated that his country will send a committee that will see the areas that the two ations can cooperate.

This includes economical investment, reconstruction, security, education and social affairs.

” I am satisfied the ties with India. During my visit to India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown his interest that the two countries establish ties.” said President Hasan.

The president went on to say that he believes that setting up ties with India is important for the reconstruction efforst in Somalia.

He added that he welcomes investment firms to come to Somalia and explore its opportunities.

Ms. Suchitra Dura has announced that India will help Somalia to explore electricity projects, education and to see areas where both countries can cooperate.

She went to say that both countries have investment opportunities to get exploited.

Somali foreign minister and presidential affairs minister were in attendance during the meeting.
