Somaliland: President Silanyo accepts resignations from gov’t officails

HARGEISA– President of the Republic of Somaliland His Excellency Ahmed M. Silanyo has accepted all government ministers and officials who resigned from his adminstration today.

The president has ordered police commissioner that all the resigned officials will not come to their offices until they transfer the duty they have been in charge of.

Mr. Silanyo has held meeting with police commissioner which was held at the presidential compound.

He informed that the officails should stay away from their ministerial offices until further notice.

The president has informed all resigned officails that he accepted their resignations and will continue to accept any officail who will announce his resignation.

The resignation of gov’t ministers came after meeting ended without result after president Silanyo has appealed to ministers in his cabinet who are next of kin to rally their suppor behind Musa Bihi.

They have turned down the president’s appeal and walked out of the meeting.

They are siding with Somaliland’s foreign Affairs minister, Mohamed Bihi Yonis is vying for the presidency in Kulmiye party.

Presidential affairs minister, Hirsi Ali Hasan has told the president that they cannot accept his appeal.

They called on the president to give two days to think about the decison that they will take.

President Ahmed Silanyo has overtly told from now on that he is committed hundred percent to support, Musa Bihi as the next presidential contender of Kulmie ruling party.

Civil avaition minister and the minister of energy who were in attendance at the meeting last night have accepted Silanyo’s appeal to throw their weight behind Musa Bihi.
