Somaliland: Hargeisa City Hall bought road building equipment from Ethiopia
HARGEISA– The Mayor of Hargeisa and the councilors have unveiled for the first time new equipment aimed at constructing roads in Hargeisa, Somaliland capital.
Hargeisa City Hall bought the new equipment from large Ethiopian company and were brought the border town of Wajale hich links Somaliland to Ethiopia.
The equipment include dump trucks, truck asphalt, and many important instruements that will help the city hall to construct new roads within the city.
The new firm which is governmental has been welcomed by a delegation headed by Somaliland mayor and accompanied by all councilors who were happy receiving the new equipment.
They said that this will save the large sum of money spent on renting road construction equipment from local firms.
Hargeisa city hall secretray general, Ibrahim Ahmed Rabi has said that the arrival of these equipment will assist the city to make progress.
Abdirahman Soltelco, Hargeisa mayor has told that the firm is part of the city hall and will be in charge of road building in the capital.
The mayor has told that the equipment was bought from Metals and Engineering Corporation (METEC) which is an Ethiopian firm.
