Somaliland Interior Minister accuses Somalia of backing Sultan Wabar insurgency

Hargeysa – Minister of Interior, Ali Mohamed Waran Adde sends apologies and thanks to the government of Ethiopia and also thanked the people of Awdal over the attack of its regional governor.

This was revealed in a press conference that the minister of interior held in Hargeisa today.

The minister has sent his sincere condolences to the family and relatives who lost two soldiers in defense of Somaliland.

The minister has expressed thanks to Awdal residents, elders and intellectuals for the cooperating the investigation which led to the capture of the perpetrators that carried out the dawn raid that took place Awdal’s regional governor.

The Minister has thanked the Federal government of Ethiopia and the Somali regional authority both for the close working cooperation in the border areas.

He thanked the Somali regional president in Ethiopia who the minister said is busy to see the border areas safe and secure.

The minister has apologized after Somaliland defense forces have crossed into Ethiopia in pursue of the culprits that conducted the raid which left behind the dead of two body guards and two others sustaining injuries.

Somaliland minister of interior accused the Somali federal government of backing the rebel insurgency group led by Sultan Wabar which is hiding in the border between Ethiopia and Somaliland.

He added that all they want is to see Somaliland where violence breaks out.

The minister warned that anyone that tries to put the country’s national security in jeopardy will later regret it.
