Somaliland to attend a federal level investment summit in Denmark
COPENHAGEN– Somaliland’s minister of industry, Mr. Shuaib Mohamed Muse is due to attend a meeting which is expected to officially kick off today in Denmark.
SPARK has organized the meeting and sees the attendance of Trade and commerce ministers from Somalia, Puntland and Somaliland which is a federal level gathering.
The meeting which is scheduled to open today is aimed at addressing investment opportunities, commerce, creation of employment opportunities and other issues pertaining to trade and investment.
Mr. Shuaib who is the current industry ministers of Somaliland will see the attendance of Somali trade and industry minister, Mohamed Hasan Adan and Puntland’s trade and industry minister, Abdiwali Hirsi Abdile.
The three ministers from Somalia, Somaliland and Puntland are due to make a key note speech at the event.
Fishing firms from Hargeisa and officials from the chamber of commerce of Somalia will attend the meeting.
Officials from the ministry of foreign affairs of Denmark will take part the event.
Somaliland Diaspora community that live in Copenhagen were vigilant and found out the mission of the summit and have decided not to welcome Somaliland’s minister of industry who is attending the meeting with Somali government and regional states ministers.
This means that Somaliland has embraced the ideology of Federalism after it has decided to send its ministerial level delegation to meetings where Somali officials are in attendance.
The Diaspora community raised many questions why the minister from Somaliland has rushed to go to such meetings.
They thought that why the minister should go to a meeting which is aimed at addressing the investment opportunities in Somaliland.
