US drone kills senior militant commander in Somalia
Mugadishu,16july,2015(QJ/SDN)-A suspected U.S. drone strike killed two senior Alshabab commanders in south-western Somalia, officials said Thursday, the latest in string of aerial attacks against the group.
The drone has reportedly fired three missiles on a car carrying Adan Jabhad, a senior military commander along with another unidentified commander who were travelling near military bases outside Bardhere town, southwestern Somalia on Wednesday night.
The Pentagon hasn’t so far commented on the attack which comes at a time allied forces are trying to seize the town from militants after years of control.
The commander targeted by the drone attack was reportedly coordinating a counter-attack against the African Union and Somali troops who tightened noose towards the town to oust militants in the town.
No comment could be reached from Al-Shabab officials on the attack.
