Nationlink Telecommunication Company to Start Mobile Banking Service
Nationlink Telecommunication Company of Somalia and Rapid Communications Ltd of Kenya are soon jointly starting a mobile banking project.
This project will facilitate for the Somali people to save their money in their mobile accounts and to purchase commodities using mobile money transfer. This project will be used to transfer $2 billion annually. Rapid Communications Ltd of Kenya holds 16% of the shares of this project. This project is called E-maal. The executive director of Rapid, Mr. Anwar Hussein said this project will improve business transactions and savings in Somalia. He said the Somali Diaspora Communities in North America, Europe and Middle East will be able to use this service to transfer remittances to their relatives in Somalia.
On the other hand, Abdirizack Isaaq Iidow, the Chairperson of Nationlink said his company will smooth the progress for the Somali people to utilize from that priceless project. He said Somalis will be able to transfer money through E-maal with ease.
Somalis like the telephone service of Nationlink because of its cheap rates and clearness. Nationlink becomes the second telecommunication company in the market that starts mobile money transfer and mobile banking services.
