Somaliland: The Lone Wolf, VS. Solid Garadagists: The Two Tales of Aggressive and the Hapless Bihi

By Abdirahman Mohamed Dirye

Muse Bihi the nominal chairperson of the Kulmiye who was acting to be most powerful figure in the party lastly met his waterloo after so many postponements of scheduled congresses and false resistances. But did he born to lose? Or did he realized the massive challenge in terms of Hirsi/Silanyo led Garadag fox tricks using the national funds to buy votes from everyone including Bihi’ close cousins whose faiths in their tribe were diluted by “internal clan rivalry”. He refused reluctantly to convene to delay his fate but Bihi, hapless, finally gave up to his imposed fate! Watching Bihi’s hesitated speech announcing a controversy over was just a smoke screen to hide his humiliating failures. Garadagists implicitly said to him “you are a rat wanting to be an elephant!”However; Bihi’s resistance to follow Garadag’s Set of Laws was spurious.

Take his shoes, and sit down for a moment pretending to be met your waterloo. Although Bihi put false smile on his face while speaking, he was internally bleeding and biting his tongue for good reasons. Quoting Ibrahim Ar Abbay Farah’s remarks when his cousin late Egal beaten him in the election and some of his close kinsmen laughed at him “ aar caabi  oo kaliya ma dhicin ee reer hebel oo dhan baa dhacay” is that true today despite the difference in time? Bihi was supposed to equip himself every necessary weapon to defend himself from such humiliation and ultimate easy elimination from political scene. I am sorry for him, I was thinking he was a bit stronger given his notorious threat to his maternal tribe “anigoo wax dili kara duca qaadan maayee”. Today the date is 24/02/14 and Bihi has gone much like his cousin Engineer Hashi.

Story of Bihi falling down to the ground easily fainted in the face of the Garadag political might reminded me of an amateur reporter—I do not remember his name— who said in televised coverage that entire Somaliland nation went strike— most of them never heard Hashi let alone to strike for him—when Engineer Hashi threatened to resign! What a good journalist!  But one must be realistic. Garadagists are better your x…, and my y…, guesses the missing word. The elimination process had begun in full swing. “As you make your bed so may lay on it”.

It is not good to exaggerate a public servant simply for the sake of clannish sentimentality. Give credit whoever deserves without much hyperbole. Public servants come with nomination but they can be fired as well.

Unlike Garadagists unified at the all fronts, lack of Agabar’s unconditional support played major part in his easy fall, no protest, and no noisy removal but his fall wasn’t sudden but much expected long time ago. His reluctance to play the game delayed his fall and imminent failure.

His ex-deputy Abdiqadir forewarned him that they will drag him down much worse than him if he resists. So Bihi heeded the ultimatum and gave up before they break his backbone.

Ummadda, Xaqsoor, and UDUB had been illegally eliminated while UCID was reduced to puppet party dancing for whoever credited for their Zaad account. But these parties in the real world stand for tribes to be frank.  In other words, several tribes fell over another and most recently Bihi’s tribe fell who were celebrating to his utter failure when he was taken to political mortuary.

I used to hear certain tribe possesses Berbera seaport, Wajale dry port and Djibouti airport! What nonsense! likewise, another tribe brags to possess two-third of Somaliland territory from Hargaysa to Erigavo, but when it comes to politics their political muscles shrink.  However; though Garadagists live in Buroa alone, they are dominant in the realpolitik.  Learn from them or dive in ocean of dirt like Bihi.

Bihi’s his own cousins are divided over false ministries given by smart Garadagists from ministry of books to non-existent ministry of foreign  in fact while Garadagists are rallying behind Hirsi/Silanyo combination clannish agenda at the all costs and ready to resign massively if the blueprint of the Garadag Set of Laws are endangered. Therefore; Muse Bihi have a little choice but to follow what Hirsi gives him, be it nominal chairmanship of Nagaad or Qulmiye Party.

In nutshell, on behalf of Garadagist fans, we’ve accepted your Hajul Widaac, your cowardly farewell when you bite the dust unlike your notorious threats of “being able to kill…,” thanks and goodbye.
