Somaliland: Vice President Urges Country’s Armed Forces to Accept Award of Rankings

Hargeisa, Aug 10, 2013 (SDN) — Somaliland Vice President Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail (Zeili’i) called on all branches of Somaliland national armed forces to accept the newly initiated full scale armed forces rankings after the government awarded 10,000 serving officers pooled from the three branches of the country’s armed forces.

“Government dared to provide full scale armed forces rankings. Previous governments have been afraid to dare and take such historic step for a long time, but eventually it became dream true for Kulmiye ruling government. Rankings given to the national forces might be not sufficient as expected, but I am calling for all members of Somaliland national forces to accept and congratulate each other.” Vice president said during Eidal Fidri’i prayer with thousands of Hargeisa people at Hargeisa Grand Mosque

Mr. Zeili’I has also sent congratulatory message to all Somaliland people where ever they are for the sake of Eidal Fidri’I days.

“Although we have been busy to establish the rankings of the security forces and tried our best to provide rankings, but still there can be errors and complaints by members of the armed forces and we can make mistakes because we are human but there are no intentional mistakes made by the committee for Armed forces Rankings.” Said Somaliland Vice President Seili’I,

The Vice president finally urged all Somaliland people to unite for the development, construction and the peace enhancement in entire country and he also call all Somalilanders to pay everything to contribute realizing Somaliland’s recognition efforts.

Somaliland president Ahmed Mohamed Silanyo In presidential decree has directed the ministry of Defense to institutionalize armed force’s chain of command by finalizing the award of ranks.

 

The rankings awarded to 10,000 officers from the 3 branches of country’s armed forces as recommended by the report of the Armed forces ranking committee.
